Celine Dion Slams Criticisms And Body-Shamers Concerned Over Her Slimmer Appearance

Even if critics and fans think she is too thin or her new style is just outlandish, Celine Dion just loves her new look.

The 50-year-old singer went through a personal revamp after her husband Rene Angelil passed away in January 2016. Dion gravitated towards haute couture pieces but explained that she is not ‘trying to take chances’ but simply choosing clothes that make her feel better.

In an interview with Dan Wootton, Dion said: “I’m doing this for me. I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine and sexy.”

Her new clothing choices also came as the singer lost some weight. However, she does not want her frame to be a part of any discussion.

“If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it. Don’t bother. Don’t take a picture,” she said. “If you like it, I’ll be there. If you don’t, leave me alone.”

She now regularly dances with Pepe Munoz, her backup dancer, leading to rumors that he was her new boyfriend. But Dion said that they are not involved romantically.

“I am single,” she expressed. “The press said, ‘Oh my God, René just passed and now there’s another man.’ Yeah, there’s another man in my life but not the man in my life.”

She also said that she was concerned that Munoz would have difficulty handling the attention.

“It was probably overwhelming for him at the beginning when we started working together because we were dancing together,” Dion told Wootton.

“We bonded right away as friends, we had a good time. It evolved. But when people started to take pictures and it was like, ‘Who’s that guy? René?’ … Let’s not mix everything.”
